West Middle School and West High School believe in creating safe and inclusive environments and positive school culture that honors diverse backgrounds and languages, are culturally responsive, and are anti-racist. We partner with families, students and community members to communicate the school culture and expectations and to create spaces and avenues for feedback and to hear all voices.
At West, student voice and student leadership are more than just words. Our schools are “student-centered” and engage students in collaborating in all aspects of their education. Students take an active role in practicing restorative justice with their fellow students, staff, and families through a student-led “Cowboys in Action” that focuses on healing and peer mediation.
